In-School Dance Workshops

The artsREACH Dance  Theme: Water

The objective of the curriculum is for students to make connections with various components of the environment through dance.

Specific components of the environment to be addressed will include the following: the weather, nature, elements, animals and the students’ own awareness of their participation in sustaining the earth’s resources.

These 60 minute workshops focus on a blend of jazz and clean hip hop styles; combine basic technique, partner and group work; and provide an opportunity for students to create choreography, perform and evaluate.

This curriculum also contributes to the Physical Education, Fine Arts, and Dance areas of the BC Curriculum..
