Ashley was born in Toronto, Ontario. She trained In the Professional Divisions of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and The School of Alberta Ballet. She completed further training in Europe, dancing in London, England with the ‘Images of Dance’ company and attending the International Ballet Masterclasses in Prague. Ashley has been dancing professionally in Victoria since 2005, performing with both Ballet Victoria, and as Principal Dancer with Canadian Pacific Ballet from 2007-2012. She is currently Artistic Director, Choreographer and Principal Dancer with Ballet Étoile Canada, which she co-founded in 2013. She also holds a BA Honours in Art History from University of Victoria. Ashley has been teaching ballet in Victoria for a number of years, to students of all ages. She has achieved her Advanced 2 and Associate Teacher designations from the Cecchetti Ballet Society. Ashley has been teaching for Artsreach since 2018 and is thrilled to be passing on her passion for dance to a wide range of elementary school students through the Artsreach dance workshops.
